The most downloaded roadside assistance app was in need of some well deserved service. Together with ANWB we kicked this project off with a design sprint. Within one week we validated a design solution with the target audience. We then turned out a first release of the app in 6 months.
2 Million calls per year
Broken down on the shoulder? ANWB’s‘Wegenwacht’ will come to your aid in The Netherlands or abroad. As the biggest player in the roadside assistance market, the ANWB gets more than 2 million phone calls per year from people that have broken down with their car.
A new direction in one week
The design sprint offered the team the freedom to look for the boundaries and test a design direction with actual users. This week ensured a great coöperation between the stakeholders and a highly motivated team with a clean goal. To enable a swift launch we documented the essential functionalities for a first release. In the course of the following months we further developed these functionalities. Read more on our design sprints here.
From design sprint to 4.5 star app rating
Focussing on a happy flow during unhappy moments
Indicating a breakdown through the app
With the new Wegenwacht app you can indicate a breakdown to the new Wegenwacht system. With just a few clicks you can send the cause of the breakdown, your licence plate number, location and your membership number. Bye bye call center queues and waiting music!
For android and iOS
Of course we do not wish for you to break down while on the road. But if it were to happen, good preparation is half the work. The Wegenwacht app is available from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
It's been nice working with you
This project was developed in close collaboration between ANWB (client), M2mobi (development) and Sogeti (testing & scrum master)
