Are you looking for a UX designer, UX researcher, or Product Manager? Mitigate risk by working with a digital design agency. And that's not the only benefit!

What is the 'wet DBA'

“The 'wet Deregulering Beoordeling Arbeidsrelaties' (DBA Act) is about the deregulation of the assessment of employment relations. Due to this 'wet DBA', the 'Verklaring Arbeidsrelatie' (VAR), which is a declaration of employment relations, has been abolished. Clients and contractors make agreements within their relationship. Together they assess whether this relation is regarded as employment or as freelance work. When in doubt, a model agreement can provide certainty. It is important to assess whether the relationship is regarded as employment or as freelance work.” – Belastingdienst

Collaborating with freelancers will become a lot more difficult from 2025 on. Companies must strictly adhere to the rules – which results in more administration and more financial risk, such as high fines.

A solution could be to work with an agency instead. We supply experienced specialists who integrate seamlessly into your team. With more than 15 years of experience, we have helped many companies design and develop successful products.

Why work with an agency?

  • More certainty around legal compliance, and less risk
We employ our own (service) designers and researchers. This prevents the Belastingdienst from regarding them as employed by you.
  • Continuity and stability
You work with freelancers because they provide flexible and temporary capacity for your team. But working with freelancers comes with its own risks, mostly relating to availability and continuity. We offer a long-term commitment if required: we make clear agreements about this. We always have specialists available to help your team out. We like clear and direct communication, we're very flexible, and we love to give advice.
  • Expertise and collaboration
With a team of 25+ people and experience at hundreds of clients, we have a lot of knowledge and expertise – which we love to share. Moreover, our people are used to blending in with in-house design teams and product teams. We quickly get the hang of your organisation and your way of working. That's how we make sure we're always well informed when taking on a challenge.
  • Cost efficiency
A freelancer seems cheaper than workin with an agency, but in the long term it's more cost efficient to work with an agency. We build long-term relationships with all of or clients, which ensures that we are aware of internal politics and market developments. We work with default rates and we offer discounts when deploying a larger team. Our people are attuned to each other, and there's the benefit of a favorable price-quality ratio.

By collaborating with a digital agency, an organisation can benefit from a solid and integrated team whilst mitigating legal and operational risks, providing high-quality and consistent results, and decreasing costs and complexity.

Are you a freelancer?

Just like other types of businesses, an agency sometimes also needs to fill gaps in the team or scale up quickly. Interested? Get in touch with our HR manager to schedule an introductory chat.
