Understand WCAG and get an accessibility audit

Don’t exclude your customer

EAA is the European Accessibility Act, a law that was introduced in 2019 to make sure that everyone has access to digital products —including people with an impairment. You can use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as a checklist, to find out if your digital product is compliant.

Why act now?

1.  25% of all people have an impairment. They deserve the same user experience with your product or service. Don't exclude them — and don't miss out on 25% of potential customers.

2.  By improving accessibility you'll boost your SEO, as Google ranks accessible websites higher.

3.  As of 2025, the government will issue fines to companies that are obliged to comply with WCAG standards but fail to do so.

How we can help

We offer an accessibility audit to check how WCAG compliant you already are and what needs to be done to become fully compliant.

Our WCAG compliancy process

  • Tailoring the WCAG criteria. We identify the most relevant WCAG standards based on your product's specific needs.
  • Defining the scope. Together, we determine the scope of the evaluation to align it with your business goals and target audience.
  • Conducting the evaluation. We perform a thorough audit of your product, flagging all accessibility issues that need attention.
  • Delivering actionable insights. You receive a detailed report highlighting key findings and practical recommendations to improve accessibility.

Pro tips

If the general usability of your product is lacking, we advise to incorporate this in the audit. There’s a few ways to evaluate usability:

And before getting started with accessibility, we recommend getting up to speed about what accessibility means and why it’s important, and about guidelines and legislation.

Don’t worry if you’re experiencing some hurdles along the way — you’re not the only one. Just being aware of these hurdles already sets you up to be more successful in making your product accessible.

Lastly, we’re happy to share the design-specific tips and resources our own designers use to make our products accessible. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you need anything else.
